High Intensity Interval Training - The number of repetitions in a workout do vary so does the length. There are five branches of High Intensity Interval Training: Tabata, Peter Coe, Gibala, Zuniga and Vollard.

High Intensity Interval Training is popular for the following reasons:

  • Heightens your metabolic rate
  • Promotes weight loss
  • Bulks your muscles
  • Lowers your blood pressure and blood sugar

High Intensity Interval Training is a type of interval training that incorporates short periods of intense exercises with less intense recovery periods. Basically, you are required to perform high intensity workouts followed by low intensity workouts. The workout session is supposed to last for 30 minutes. It starts with a warm up session followed by high intensity workouts separated by medium intensity workouts designed for recovery and rest period.

First time doing it and it was a great experience. Learning curve is doable because the instructors teach you the basics that help you with form. Plus at The Phoenix Gym, they mix it up - so it's not boring or overwhelming.
